I resisted writing notes for this chapter because it seemed so straightforward. An email from Mike Stinson of Central Michigan University led me to discover that this is not the case. The problem is that telnet does not quite work the way you expect in Windows. It is almost as if the screen has echo turned off. You cannot see what you have typed. Recently an email from Petar Konovski of Birkbeck, University of London explained how to fix the problem. See the individual experiment notes for details.
