Calvin seal CS 108: Introduction to Computing

Course Objectives: This course introduces Computing as a problem solving discipline with a particular emphasis on programming in the Java programming language. We will discuss:

  • The precise specification of a problem.
  • The design of its solution.
  • The coding of the solution.
  • The testing and debugging of the solution.

We will place heavy emphasis on the object-oriented approach to problem solving and a secondary emphasis on the discussion of topics from the breadth of computing. The material will be presented in the context of the Christian faith.
