Positions

The Calvin College Department of Computer Science seeks applicants for one or more part-time faculty positions. Individuals from all computing-related areas are invited to apply. Responsibilities include: teaching computing-related courses, including lecture and/or lab sessions of introductory courses, as well as courses that serve other departments.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a masters degree (or at least five years of work experience) in computer science or a related area, must support the mission of the college, and must be strongly committed to undergraduate education. Desirable qualities include: experience and skills in teaching undergraduates, including strong communication and organizational skills. 

About Computer Science

The department features supportive colleagues, excellent facilities, a fast-growing population of (mostly) hardworking students, a dynamic colloquium series, and strong undergraduate programs in computer science, data science, digital communications, and information systems, including a BCS major accredited by ABET (abet.org). Special departmental programs include our 50% Initiative and sponsoring Girls Who Code clubs.
