As indicated in the strategies tab, the Diamond, Ruby, and Emerald sponsorships provide female students with $1,500 grants to attend the GHC conference; the Platinum, Gold, and Silver, sponsorships provide women with these same grants plus $3,500 scholarships. All sponsorships:
- Will be publicly acknowledged by the inclusion of their logo (or name) and sponsorship level on this page.
- Will receive a certificate of appreciation formally acknowledging their participation in this initiative.
- Will receive a charitable donation receipt for IRS/tax purposes.
Each sponsored student will be paired with a mentor from her sponsoring company, who can advise and build a relationship with the student. A student with a multi-year sponsorship will visit her mentor's company for a job-shadow day each year, where she can meet other employees and begin building a relationship with her sponsoring company.
Platinum, Gold, and Diamond sponsors will receive a free table at Calvin's annual Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair, providing those companies with further access to technical talent.
For Platinum, Gold, and Silver sponsors, the student and her mentor will attend Calvin's annual Named Scholarship Dinner, where scholarship donors are formally acknowledged and thanked.
For Platinum sponsors, the sponsored student will be encouraged to complete a (paid) summer internship at the company, further strengthening the relationship between the student and the company.
Scholarship names will include the name of the sponsoring company (or individual), providing further positive publicity for the company.
We seek corporate and individual sponsors to help us implement our 50 Percent Initiative. For information on how you can partner with us, please contact Prof. Joel Adams (firstname.lastname@example.org), chair of Calvin’s CS Department.
