General Information

I am a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at Calvin College. I've also done:

graduate work in Computer Science at the University of Colorado.
research for 3 years in England at the Information Technology Research Institute (ITRI). I loved England; if you're interested, I've compiled lists of the things I love and hate about England.
research for 3 months in Australia (in successive January terms) at the CSIRO. I loved Australia too and have compiled a short list of things I love and hate about Australia.

My wife Brenda and I graduated from Central College and have two children: Lukas, 12, and Christian, 10. Brenda has an MS in Computer Science from the University of Iowa and teaches at Calvin as well. Lukas plays tennis and soccer, and Christian would prefer to be called "Sabe" (because he used to be a saber-tooth tiger).
