CPSC 110: Project #3

Some Other Design Issues

Here are some other things you should keep in mind as you write your Web pages.

You will be graded on conforming to these style issues and those explained in this local reference.

Old Pages

Update your Web pages (index.htm, schedule.htm, links.htm, bio.htm, or interests.htm) to conform to the design suggestions given above. You will be graded on conforming to these suggestions.

Use CSS to help design your pages wisely. Add all CSS changes to the homepages.css external CSS sheet started in Lab #3. You should have ten new styles in homepages.css; it can be any combination of changed HTML or your own custom styles.

Republish any pages as necessary. Save and publish your latest home page for this project as indexproj3.htm.

Do not dismiss this assignment as trivial since it "merely" asks you to look over your previous work. The grader will be very harsh in grading the aesthetics of your Web pages.

Good Examples

In addition to the home page examples in Project #2, these pages also give you an idea of what's possible:

Use the View -> Page Source option to get a sense on how to use the tables and other formatting options.

Turn In

There is nothing you have to physically turn in for this project. If you can get to the pages listed on The Project #3 Page of Links, then you're all set. You do not have to include your name, course number (i.e., "110"), section letter, or even "Project #3" on these pages since it's all very explicit from the page of links. This project is worth 20 points (3 points for each old Web page and 5 points for the external CSS file). See the schedule page for the due date.

Other Projects

Continue working on the email project and thinking about the Web project.
