Welcome to IDIS 150-06 DCM, Creating Smartphone Apps, at Calvin College. Students in this course will conceive of, design and build their own mobile applications and will consider the implications of such applications in the context of a Reformed perspective. No prior programming experience is required. Potential applications include location-aware systems, video games and cloud services. The applications will be built using MIT AppInventor, which allows students to install and run applications on an Android-based device, if they own one, or on AppInventor’s emulator software. Development is done on Windows.
