Today you will create your own Scratch animation. But, begin by creating a place on your H:\ drive for this class:

• open Windoze Explorer (You can hit Ctrl-E for a nifty shortcut).
• Navigate to your H: drive.
• Make a new folder there: probably call it IDIS-100 or FIT or Normans-got-cute-knees.

Now, go to http://scratch.mit.edu and click on "Create" at the top, to start a new project.

Now it's time to use your creativity! Using the tools introduced in the videos (or by exploring the others available), create an animation of your choice. There are very few constraints here, except for the following:

• The animation must begin when the green flag is clicked.
• Movement must occur (it can be random, or depend on the mouse or keyboard).
• A minimum of 3 control blocks must be used.
• At least 1 sensing block must be used. Sensing blocks check to see if a key had been typed or the mouse moved or if one sprite is touching a color or another sprite.
• There must be at least one sound played.

Be creative! Try to make a little game or draw a cute picture. You can do fun things by using "pen down" and then moving the sprite around the screen. When your project is complete, use File --> Download to your computer", and save the file in your H: drive. Then, don't forget to upload the file to Moodle.

We will grade this assignment according to the following criteria:

• Required components:
  • 10% - Animation begins with click of green flag
  • 15% - Movement occurs
  • 15% - 3 control blocks are used
  • 10% - A sensing block is used
  • 10% - A sound is played
• 40% - Creativity
