One of the assumptions of IDIS 110 is that you either have or can acquire a basic knowledge of:

We will certainly discuss these technologies in the course, but if you are new to them, then plan on taking time early in the semester to learn about them. You can find skills checklists as well as tutorial material on all of these "Prerequisite Skills" at the FIT tutorials site.

You should also be sure that you bring logins and passwords for Novell, Webmail and Knightvision/Moodle to our first lab session. If you have not already done so, to activate your Calvin account (including access for Moodle), visit www.calvin.edu/account/new and follow the prompts. In addition, you must activate your Novell account before our first class, by going to www.calvin.edu/go/activatenovell and again following the prompts. You will need to have already setup your Calvin account before attempting to activate your Novell account.

Note that you don't need to turn anything in for this project, just come to our first lab period prepared. If you have any questions about how to do any of these things, don't hesitate to ask for help. You can find information on how to contact me on my home page.
