Computing@Calvin - A Guide to the Core Requirement for FIT

Need some help in choosing an initial computing course at Calvin? This page provides a guide to assist students entering their first year at Calvin College.

First, you should know that Calvin has a core curriculum requirement called Foundations in Information Technology (FIT). Most students majoring in the liberal arts will take IDIS110. However, other options are available depending on your academic and career goals. To determine the best fit for you, review the list of majors on the left. Find the one that interests you and click on the button next to it.

This guide is not meant to be a substitute for the college's catalog or good counsel from your academic advisor. We encourage you to talk to your advisor or feel free to visit one of the members of the computer science department to review choices appropriate for you.

Options for the Major
