Who We Are
Human Rights Awareness began in 2012 when a small group of volunteers realised that too many people simply did not know their own rights — or how to defend the rights of others. What started as a handful of community workshops has grown into an international non-profit reaching people across every continent.
We are dedicated to educating the public about human rights violations taking place across the world. We believe that knowledge is the first step toward change: by shining a light on injustice, documenting abuses, and sharing the stories of those affected, we empower individuals and communities to act. Our work connects you to verified reporting, campaigns, and organisations fighting for dignity, equality, and freedom for all people — because every single life matters.
Our Collaborations
Change is rarely the work of one group alone. Over the years, Human Rights Awareness has partnered with organisations that share our mission to protect and promote human dignity:
- Amnesty International — co-hosted public awareness campaigns and joint reporting on torture and detention.
- UN Human Rights (OHCHR) — contributed to regional workshops on documenting and reporting abuse.
- Human Rights Watch — collaborated on research and field verification of emerging violations.
- UNICEF — supported child rights education programs in underserved schools.
- Local grassroots groups — trained community advocates across 14 countries on legal aid referral.
Together with these partners we have helped thousands of individuals access support, documentation, and legal assistance — and we continue to build new alliances around the world.
