Registration Choose a project/mentor from the list of possible projects for next year.
Register for CS 396 for the fall semester.
Fall
(senior year)
September Attend project training sessions as announced:
  • Project visioning and course logistics - Bring a one-two-paragraph statement of your project goals and who you plan to work with (i.e., advisor, teammates) and be prepared to present your idea.
  • Writing a project proposal - Bring a draft of sections 1-3 of the project proposal and be prepared to read/critique proposals from other students.
  • Finishing your project proposal - Bring a completed draft of your full project proposal as approved by your project advisor and be prepared to present your development plan.
September 30 Submit a project proposal to your mentor and the department.
The department will review the proposal and approve/disapprove by October 15.
October Register for CS 398 for the spring semester.
November/December Attend the class session as announced:
  • Status report - Bring a first draft of the project status report and be prepared to present your status. Include a prototype and demo if appropriate.
December 15 Submit the following to your project mentor:

The department will review these deliverables and approve/disapprove them by January.

Spring
(senior year)
February Attend the class session as announced:
  • Second Status report - Submit a first draft of the second project status report and be prepared to present your status. Include a prototype and demo.
May 1 Attend the senior project presentations as announced:
  • Final presentation - Deliver a full presentation on your project.
May 15 Submit your final deliverables to your mentor and the department.
The department will review your work and approve/disapprove by May 30.
