AI technology is changing rapidly. It’s helpful to subscribe to a few curated feeds of content.
I suggest you pick one or two types of updates that you normally process, and then pick one or two instances of each type.
Good curators are hard to find and keep changing. I’ll suggest a few below, but please share what you find (and if any of my recommendations have gotten stale).
Blogs and Email Newsletters
I like subscribing by email or on NetNewsWire (an RSS reader) so I don’t have to “poll” for updates. Again, you should search on your own:
- Critical perspectives
- AI: A Guide for Thinking Humans | Melanie Mitchell | Substack critical but not bashing
- Mystery AI Hype Theater 3000: The Newsletter (archives)
- Gary Marcus on AI critical perspective
- Civics of Technology blog policy and societal implications
- Technical perspectives
- Simon Willison AI applications and perspectives
- Ahead of AI | Sebastian Raschka, PhD | Substack
- Interconnects | Nathan Lambert technically deep
Other good ones to explore:
- AlgorithmWatch general tech ethics and policy
- 🤗 Hugging Face lots of hands-on updates
Podcasts
Here are some I listen to, but you should search on your own too:
- TWiML
- The Gradient
Academic Research
Describe your specific AI interests to an LLM and ask for whom to follow on Google Scholar. I follow lots of people, so I won’t share my list here.
