Perspectival (50%) ¶
Read what at least two of your classmates wrote on Forum 6. Try to find someone with a perspective that differs from yours.
In Forum 7 on Moodle, post an updated version of the statement you wrote for Homework 6 on the relationship between technology and the Fall. Your revised statement should:
- Define and use one of the terms technicism or reductionism
- Discuss at least two different perspectives on the issue
- Reference at least two other posts (from students and/or teaching staff)
- Discuss your stance on the issue (and possibly how it has developed since your original post)
- Be self-contained; the reader shouldn’t have to go back to the other forum to see what you wrote there.
- Include an example, not from the reading, that illustrates your perspective. This may be the same or different from what you used in your original post.
- Consist of two or three concise paragraphs
Grading ¶
- 50% — Thoughtful content: 20% each for two different positions, 10% for a clear statement of your stance
- 30% — Evidence of responses to other students' statements
- 20% — Grammar and style
