Please note! The format of citations vary
considerably between databases. All these characteristics may
not be present in one citation. If a citation contains two or
more of these characteristics, it's probably a book citation.
1 - ISBN is the abbreviation for International
Standard Book Number. Always an excellent
clue that the citation is for a book. |
2 - Look for only one number (e.g., 271 p.)
as opposed to a range of page numbers (e.g., 183-195) which
would refer to a journal article. |
3 - Look for information about the publisher
of the book. |
4 - "Monograph" is a fancy word
for book |
