Most applications should provide some hints to the user that help them use the program. Many menu-driven programs provide a Help menu. Others provide context-sensitive messages that appear just when needed. For example, most Microsoft Windows application programs provide a Help menu on the far right of the menu bar, while text-based unix systems provide an on-line manual that is accessed by typing the shortcut phrase "man".
