Login - Username and Password

Some computers use an operating system that requires the user to log in to the system. After the computer is turned on, these systems display text prompting the user to enter a username and password.

Before using one of these systems, the user must obtain a username and password from the system administrator of that computer. Large institutions often have an information technology helpdesk that administrates usernames and passwords for the entire network of computers at the institution.
