In this course students study 3D computer modeling and animation. Concepts and techniques that are studied include modeling, lighting, surfacing, rendering, compositing, keyframe animation, and basic concepts in character animation. Student work includes several modeling tutorials and projects using Lightwave 3D, including a character that can be animated. Students also work in groups to produce a final project - either a short animated video or a virtual environment with animated characters for a 3D simulation engine.
