Lab 2: Instructor's Notes

This exercise consists of a series of experiments that explore the rich set of operations provided by C++. Some can be done with "pencil and paper," or in the students' heads, while others will require the students to modify, translate and execute a program. Each experiment has been designed to enhance the student's understanding of C++ expressions and operators.

You should review each experiment in advance -- doing all of the experiments takes in excess of three hours. If you do not want your students to perform all of the experiments (e.g., because of time constraints), inform your students of this at the beginning of the lab period.

The source program for each of these experiments is in a file named express.cpp. If you wish to avoid network congestion, download this yourself and store it in a directory for your class. Then inform your students as to how they may copy it from that directory.
